Project Manager / Agile Delivery Manager (with Product Owner Responsibilities)
JOB DESCRIPTION
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager who combines traditional project management (PMBOK), Agile/Scrum leadership, and Product Owner capabilities, while managing software development and DevOps teams.
This role bridges business, product, and engineering, ensuring that the right things are built, built the right way, and delivered on time.
Key Responsibilities
1. Classic Project Management (PMBOK / Hybrid)
- Manage the end-to-end project lifecycle: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure
- Define and control:
- Scope, timelines, budgets, and resourcing
- Risks, issues, dependencies, and assumptions
- Own project governance, reporting, and stakeholder communication
- Manage change control and ensure alignment with organizational standards
2. Agile & Scrum Management
- Act as Scrum Master / Agile Delivery Lead as needed
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies:
- Sprint planning
- Daily stand-ups
- Sprint reviews
- Retrospectives
- Promote Agile values, continuous improvement, and team maturity
3. Product Owner Responsibilities
- Act as Product Owner where a dedicated PO is not present
- Own and maintain the product backlog, ensuring it is:
- Clearly prioritized by business value
- Well-groomed and refined
- Ready for development
- Translate business needs into clear user stories and acceptance criteria
- Balance delivery constraints with product goals and technical realities
- Work closely with stakeholders to:
- Define product vision and roadmap inputs
- Manage scope and priorities
- Make trade-off decisions
- Accept completed work and ensure it meets business and quality expectations
4. Technical Software & DevOps Team Management
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams:
- Software engineers
- QAs
- Business Analysts
- UX Designers
- DevOps
- Understand system architecture well enough to:
- Facilitate technical discussions
- Identify risks and dependencies
- Support architectural decision-making
- Collaborate with DevOps to ensure:
- Reliability, scalability, and security
Stakeholder & Communication Management
- Serve as a primary interface between:
- Business stakeholders
- Engineering and operations
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Proactively manage expectations, risks, and conflicts
